Therefore, it is very difficult to pin down someone. As you are probably aware, given names were repeated generation after generation. I don't have a picture but I do have some information that might help you locate where he is buried. You will have to return to your original query or post a reply to this response and even let me know whether or not I have the correct person. 2. Phyllis Reynolds Goelz
    3. This appeared in the Ironwood, Michigan Daily Globe last week. Don't know if she and her family are related to anyone still in Kentucky, but thought I'd post it just in case. I know that a lot of Kentuckians wound up in Michigan. Phyllis Jane Caudill Published Thursday, November 3, 2005 11:12:05 AM Central Time WATERSMEET, Mich. -- Jane Caudill, 63, of Watersmeet, died on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at Eagle River Memorial Hospital in Eagle River, Wis. She was born on Jan. 15, 1942, in Marquette, daughter of the late Neil and Kathryn (Vaughan) Chapman. She spent her childhood in Trout Creek and graduated from Trout Creek High School in 1960. In 1960, she moved to Chicago and worked at Cory Corp. It was in Chicago where she met Richard Caudill of Watersmeet. They were married in Watersmeet on July 8, 1961, and moved back to Watersmeet in 1971. For many years, Jane worked as a waitress and most recently in guest services at Lac Vieux Desert Casino. Jane opened her home and her heart to all around her. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing large meals for everyone. Friends were welcomed and told to get a plate and fork to join the family. Jane's first concern was her family. She always put her husband, children and brothers first, and doted on all of her grandchildren. Jane will be forever missed by her husband, Richard; daughters, Janice (Danny) Ellis, Iron Mountain, Roxanne (Bobby) Majeske, Watersmeet, Patti Caudill, Lake Odessa, and Lynn (Jeff) Landers, Mundelein, Ill.; sons, Brian (Cathie), Crivitz, Wis., and Bruce (Lara), Watersmeet; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Vicki) Chapman, Lindenhurst, Ill., and Vaughan (Carol) Chapman, Cary, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews will also miss her deeply. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m. CST, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watersmeet. Interment will be in the Watersmeet Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baycliff Camp. The Wandersee Funeral Home in Bruce Crossing is assisting the family.

    1. Marriage look-up.
    2. I'm looking for information on a marriage that may have been in Harlan Co. I can't find a record of it in Clay Co. Joseph (Joe) Roark to an Elizabeth Hollinsworth between 1880 and 1900. Elizabeth's death certificate lists her father as Jim Hollin but I believe that was shortened from Hollinsworth or Hollansworth or Hollingsworth. Their daughter Mary was born in February 1888 but son George wasn't born until 1894. This could possibly be because of their move to Clay Co. I believe Joseph's father's name was James and he is still in Harlan Co. in the 1900 census. Another puzzle is that Joseph Roark changed his name to Joe Maxie around 1912. George was married as a Maxie. Any help with these puzzles would be greatly appreciated. Jerry Philpot.

    3. Caroline I forgot to mention Wm B Scott is listed as Burton Scott on the 1860 Cen age 7 so his ages varies from 1853 to 1857he is s/o Leonard Scott and some report Leonard was from Cherokee Tribe but I question this.. as so many claim such and its hard to prove but if you go to the NC Reservation you might find some records of such.... Leonard Scott Christening: Cherokee Tribe, Native American NC .. So if you prove this you have a lot of work to do... also some report Leonard Wife asJohanah Hensley/Hanah Hensleyb-1830 you need to ck with Randy on this mailing list as he has a lot of Hensley's Also Wm Burton Scott was still having children in the 1890 so you know most he was alive then ..
