Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/3AB.2ACI/5163.4.1.1.1.1.1.2 Message Board Post: i can give you a little more light on the subject of Eliza Clark. Her full name was Murry Eliza Stella Elizabeth Clark according to pop who is my grandfather. A few months before he died i went to visit and asked him about Liza. I feel like she is an orphan and we need to tell her story. She was greatly loved by her children. Pop was 14 when she died and he was still sad at 81. (Not that we rapiers would ever dare show emotions). I have a picture of pop Ben and Mattie or as you know her Irene. For some reason the family always called her Aunt Mattie. I didn't know her name was Irene until I read her obituary. This is a picture from when they were in grade school. Mattie (Irene) was 16 when her mom died. She was the oldest after the first baby died. (Floyd). Mattie is listed in Harlan birth records as Irene Ropier and mothers name Eliza Clark . Pop told me he thought the school was in Kitts. Pop told me Elizas mother died and her grandfather who was a Clark (John) heard they were going to put her on an orpahn train west. He went and got her and adopted her. The Clarks were also Cherokee but lived as white people. Pop said he thought they were originally from Georgia. She had a brother and Pop spelled the name Horris. There was a Horace Clark who died in a mining accident in 1951 and I don't yet if he is the same. I also have a picture of Liza. There is another said to be of Poppie and Horris. I am not sure if I still have a copy. I am still working on Liza's story. Whatever she went through in her young life we love her and are proud to be one of hers. email me angel and i will tell you more : ))

Aley is listed as grandson of Elizabeth (Howard), widow of George Washington Ledford, probably correct. Aley is still living with Wm. and Martha in 1910 at Buckeye, Garrard Co, Ky, listed as Nephew, which is probably correct. Was Aley the son of James, Wm's brother? Or one of Wm's sisters, who elected to keep the Ledford name? Any help greatly appreciated!

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: BRAKE, WYNN, BORAH Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3AB.2ACI/6920 Message Board Post: I have been researching my family history for about 10 years and am looking for help with one of my brick walls. I am trying to find the ancestors of my 3rd Great Grandparents and their relatives. They were Martha Priscilla BRAKE and Reverend William W. WYNN. This is what I do know about this couple and their descendants. Reverend William W. WYNN was born about 1817 in Tennessee. He married Martha Priscilla BRAKE who was born in August, 1821, in Trigg County, Kentucky. She died 30 December 1905 . William died on 26 April 1897. The couple had at least 2 children: 1. Nannie Catherine “Katie” WYNN 2. William B. WYNN According to the 1880 census, both of William’s parents were born in Tennessee. Both the 1880 and 1900 censuses state that both of Martha’s parents were also born in Tennessee. William W. WYNN, wife Priscilla and son William B. were enumerated on the 1880 Census in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, Kentucky. Martha was living with her daughter Katie and her husband C.C. BORAH in Cromwell, Ohio County, Kentucky in the 1900 Census. Cromwell was my mother’s birthplace. Although I may not have the family specifically located in this county, I know from Kentucky birth and death indices that several members of either family have resided here. My Wynn family seems to have been on the move a lot. Thank you in advance for any help. My e-mail address is pigfish9@swbell.net. Debbie Kaelin
