Ben was not recorded that i saw. He was born in 1922. in the 1920 census I saw their household (Willie & Liza)at kitts ky. the census person spelled it Raper. i have seen the Rapier name spelled in ways i never imagined hahahahaha.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3AB.2ACI/6953.1.1 Message Board Post: that could be two of them. the only thing harlan birthrecords show Mamie Clark having Clark W. Napier in 1928 unless that is a different one. then it shows her having Mattie Napier in may of 1934. I don't recall thier childrens names only that my dad's uncle Ben Rapier went to stay with her after his mother (Liza) died in 1934. as for Martha the first birth i saw for her was Aug 1922 so that matches well. my grandfather (Charles Rapier) went to her house when his mother died in 1934. one reason i am looking for the sisters of Liza or Eliza is because no one knows where she is buried. I had hoped to find where her sisters families were buried so when i visit Harlan i can look for her gravesite. do the death certificates say where they are interred?
Hi Lisa and others I have that magazine, it was Life and the published date was May 29, 1939. I don't know which mine it was, the article doesn't say. KY, Governor A. B. I have been told it was Crummies Creek. I am sending my reply to the list as I get many questions regarding this issue. If u would like a scanned copy of the photo/s, let me know. RESPONSE: Hello, In the Clay Co., kY Marriage Index IV transcribed , there is this marriage: FOUTS, J. W. to YORK, Lizzie on 26 May 1918, File 39 You might try ordering that marriage record to possibly learn more. There is one census listing that "halfway" looks like it could be them but there is a big age difference or a mistake in the transcribing of his age and yet another spelling variation.
