    3. Gloria Fay Dixon should still be alive. She married Howard E. Day 8 March 1990 in Harlan County, KY. You could probably look them up in www.whitepages.com if you wanted to call them. 3. I have Geraldine Adams married to George Elbert Dixon born 15 Mar 1934. Should he be George Elmer Dixon? They have a daughter Gloria Fay Dixon born 5 Feb 1962 married a Day. 3. Abner Lewis and Eleanor Dixon are two of my GGGG-grandparents. Even though I knew there had to be more children, all I had to this point was my own direct line beginning with their daughter Leah Lewis. Leah Lewis married William Conrad Coldiron on 20 Feb 1830; they had 15 children, with one son named Hiram. As with all our Harlan families, each generation reused the same names, over and over, naming their kids for themselves, their parents, their uncles and aunts, their siblings, etc. Maddening, isn't it? One little hint: our families are so entwined that you can sometimes track an elusive ancestor by examining the families they married into. For example, one of my favorite family histories is Otto Coldiron's wonderful work on the Coldiron family; there is lots of sound information on other family lines in this book. Of course this book made it easy for me; my Lewis line turned into a Coldiron line, and so loads of information was available. I always have to confess that when I first began to do family research I did not have enough sense to keep track of sources. Early on, a researcher gave me a copy of a photo that is supposed to be of Abner Lewis Coldiron (son of Leah Lewis and Wm. Conrad Coldiron) and Lucy Ann Ball. But I do not know where they obtained the photo. Good luck on your research. Sharon

I've been so into my geneology and not able to get much past my Grandma Moore's mother & father. I'm surprised we haven't met, because we also made alot of trips to Kentucky. I don't remember too much about the visits, but I do know my mom and Peggy were close. Like I told you before, I remember that picture of Grandma & Grandpa Moore in Elsie's home in her bedroom, a big oval one, it was so cool! You probably think I'm crazy being so excited...but I joined this ancestory.com a year ago, and haven't had a bite till now. I appreciate you looking into the pictures for me, I'll gladly pay any cost of printing or mailing that comes with this. I also have alot of information, I can send to you and the one & only picture I have of Grandma & Grandpa Moore. I was told Grandma Moore was part Indian, do you know if this is true? You also mentioned Uncle Floyd, I loved him so much, he was my favorite Uncle, he was so loving & kind, and I do miss him so. We visited him alot too in Ohio. Him and my Aunt Irene gave me my first Barbie doll, I still have it, it was one of the first ones made, and it is VERY dear to me. I have one brother, hes also 58, just turned in Nov. I just turned 48 in August. If you are interested, I'd love to keep in touch, and learn all I can about our family, My family is all gone except for my brother, thats why I so desperately wanted to find cousins. I knew they were out there! I work in a hospital as a phlebotomist, I work nights, so that is why my e-mails are always at night! I'm totally a night person, but I really love my job! Give everyone in our family my e-mail and phone #, I'll also give you my address. Thanks again for replying, you can not imagine how thrilled I am!!!! Hope to hear from you soon. Elsie married my grandfather Virgil Eustice. Elsie and Virgil had three children. Peggy Eustice who married Thad Brittian. Thad passed away last year, Peggy lives outside of Dayton,Ohio. Virgil Robert Eustice Jr. ( Uncle Bob as I call him) who lives in Norwood, ohio. Betty Lou Eustice ,my mother, she passed away 8 years ago. My mother was married to Harold Jones , but when I was only 2 they divorce. My mother remarried and moved to Dayton , Ohio with my step-father ( Hubert Mabes) when I was 4 to 5 years old. When I was growing up my mother and step-father would often( at least three times a year ) drive to Grays Knob, Kentucky to visit my grandparents ( Virgil and Elsie ). I do remember that my grandmothers mother also lived with my grandparents when I was very young ( between 4 to somewhere around 10 ). We called her great grandma Moore. I work as a Product Enginner for Airpax,s Corp. in Cambridge , Maryland. I just turned 58 in Oct. I am planning on visiting Ohio this summer to see some of the family. I have a few old pictures of my grandparents but not many. But, I do know that Aunt Peggy had a number of pictures from the time she was small and growing up in Kentucky. I will contact her about them. I will also contact Uncle Bob because he also has pictures and other documents. I also remember my mother visiting with someone she liked to see and she always called him Uncle Floyd. My mother told me he was my grandmothers brother. My mother also told me I was named after one of her Uncles. My name is Charles A. Jones. I live in Salisbury Maryland.I was born in Harlan, Kentucky but left at a young age .I grew up in Dayton, Ohio but took a lot of trips back to Kentucky. Sometimes my parents would let me stay with Elsie and Virgil for a couple of weeks during the summer. Thank You Charlie A.
