She was born Hannah McGEORGE on April 10, 1900, to Thomas and Sarah (LEE) McGEORGE. She had several siblings: James; Levi; Esther; Ford; Dorothy; Rufus; Mary; Jane; Martha; and Nanny. Considering that BELL and HARLAN Counties are so close, there could be a connection here as well. I've not really done a lot of research into the McGEORGE line; however, I have a cousin in CA who has! She has even put together a book ~ which I keep meaning to purchase. He passed away on May 6, 1938 in Harlan, Harlan Co., KY. I don't have any additional information on Maudie other than her date of death in 1989 in Barbourville, KY. John and Julia Maudie (Chadwick) were married after 1917. They had one child together ~ John "Springer" BROCK who was born on August 4, 1934 or 1935 (can't find my records right now). John was previously married to Lille APPLPEGATE and they had four children: James "Clifford" (b: 1908); Charles (b: 1912); Georgia (b: 1914); and Hughie (b: 1912/13). No one in our family knew of Hughie and he is NOT listed as a survivor on John's obituary from 1938. He is listed on the 1920 census, however, at age 7. John's middle initial on his tombstone is "H". My aunt Maude was brn abt 1890's in TN,died I believe in Hamilton Co OH date unk,and her parents were John Chadwick brn abt 1850's Ga,died 1917 Bell Co Sraight Creek KY,buried in Cary area,and Nancy Manerva(Nervy) Bond brn abt 1868 Ky,died 1943 Coxton/Ages Harlan Co KY,and I believe she is buried at Black Joe near Coxton/Ages. I believe that the Brocks were from the Evarts area.Maude was 1st married to Luke Lankford son of Levi,and Caroline Vaughn Lankford,2nd Charlie Smith brother to Finly Smith,3rd Brock,4th Whitaker. That is about all I know as of now,but do believe she may still have kin in Harlan Co,and around the Cinci OH area. Roy.
