I found a nice book called "Images of America Hardi and La Rue Counties 1880-1930" by Carl Howell and Don Waters. There is a picture of the Kirkpatrick Mill c. 1909. Later it became known as Mather Mill. The mill was established by Gabriel Kirkpatrick, Jospeh and Eleanor Friend Kirkpatrick's son. It became known as Mather's Mil after Cary W Mather, Joseph's son in law who succeded in it's management and ownership. It's located about 2 miles from A. Lincoln's birthplace on the south fork of Nolin River. The book has many pictures of the older homes and businesses in the counties. It would be worth the search at your library to get.
