What I need is John Caldwell's probate. There is no will, no burial records and no newspapers for the time span. He died between Nov 10-dec 10, 1824. I found that in the Day Order Book. His widow remarries to Campbell Sutton in 1832. I have all his children and at least one generation forward, except the unknown girl marrying the unknown Brantley. I am looking for a William Sutton (married in 1837) who married Elizabeth (John's daughter). She died a widow and no children mentioned in Simpson co in her brother's 8 side home in Franklin KY. Some of the Akers have gotten daughter Elizabeth Caldwell Sutton confused with her mother Elizabeth (Austin/Rhoda Thompson) Akers Caldwell Sutton. And this is the kicker Elizabeth (the mother) son Andrew Jackson Caldwell married an Elizabeth Akers!!! Do you have access to the deed index for Hardin county?? The years 1800-1860. I want to locate the 100 acres and go down and take pictures this spring. Most of the family trailed down to John Caldwell's half brothers in Logan and Simpson. They are the ones who had the Caldwell saddle shop, tannery and gunpowder manufacturing until about 1810 to 1836. Then it went in the hands of in laws and nephews.
