After Mary's first husband died she married Clement Gristy ( born? died 1814) and they had 8 known children one being James A. Gristy born ca 1786 St Marys Co., Md and died ? at Scotland Co., Mo. There is a town north west of Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., Ky called Rineyville, Ky and that is probably where James A. Riney lived before migrating to Missouri?? My father was born in Hardin Co., Ky and our Clark family lived, at one time, not far from Rineyville, Ky. I can give you some information on the other 7 children of Clement Gristy if you should want it. I will check to see if I can find out anything more on James A. Gsisty for you. I can tell you the Riney's came to the colnies from Ireland and they were connected to the O'Neill clan in Ireland. It is possible that Riney's and Gristy's came into Nelson Co., Ky at the same time...Riney's arrived in Nelson co., Ky around 1800 from St Mary's Co., Ky. Believe they left St Mary's county and went up to Fort Pitt (Pittsburgh) overland and then went down the Ohio River to Maysville, Ky and thence overland again to then Nelson co., Ky. Did this in the dead of winter and arrived in springtime. Any questions just let me know....cclark4114@aol.com. Chas of tucson
