WOOTEN Complaintant--Hardin Circuit Court-- May Term Against George L ROGERS, Mary Jane ROGERS, Cynthia ROGERS, Martha ROGERS, Amanda ROGERS, John W. ROGERs, Samuel J. ROGERS, Martha Jane SUMMERS, Rachael V. SUMMERS, Benjamin SUMMERS, JOhn MERRYFIELD, Fielding MERRYFIELD, Samuel R. MERRYFIELD, Cadwallader MOORE, Adeline MOORE, Samuel SMITH, Cynthia SMITH, Alexander SMITH, FRanklin SMITH, John REED and unknown heirs of John REED wife children and heirs at law of Alexander MERRYIFIELD deceased--- This Indenture made and entered into on the 1st day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five by and between T.H. GUNTOR, Special Comissioner in the above name suit for and on behalf of the defendants of the first part and Ignatious E. WOOTEN the complaintant of the second part- Witnesseth-- That for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred dollars secured to be paid by a note from the said party of the second part to the party of the first part and to secure the payment of which note it is here by expressly agreed that the defendants shal and to hereby hold a lein on the land hereafter conveyed I do hereby grant bargain and sell one certain tract of land or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Larue and State of Kentucky and bounded as follows-- To WIT: Beginning at a black jack on the north side of the big road leading from HODGENVILLE to CHARLES STILEs and running thence S60E 4 poles to a Stake Jesse H. RODMANS South west corner thence North 40 E 383 poles to a stone in MATHERS field thence North 19 West 27 poles to a stone and small black oak thence South 40 W 30 poles to a Stake Jacob COOMBS South south west corner thence North 60 West 77 poles with said COMBS to a post oak-- thence South 46 W 276 poles to a red oak-- William MILLERS southwest corner- thence with the same North 60 West 40 poles to a stake in said line Thence South 21 1/2 E 150 poles to a post oak standing in said big road Thence South 60 E 36 poles to the beginning containing 260 acres to him the said Ignatious WOOTEN his heirs and his heirs and assigns forever The said T.W. BUNTON for and on behalf of the parties of the first part do further convenant and agree with the said Ignatius WOOTEN that they will warrant and defend the title to the aforesaid premises from themselves their heirs and assigns forever to him the said Ignatious WOOTEN-- It is further understood that the Commissioner incure no liability in any manner and whatever by reason of the above conveyance IN Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the year and date above written. GUNTON Seal Commissoner State of Kentucky Hardin County Court-- Sct At a courd continued and held for the Circuit aforesaid on Saturday the 1nd day of June 1855 the foregoing deed from Alexander MERRY- FIELDs Heirs to Ignatious WOOTEN was produced in Court by T. J> Gusten Commissioner and acknowledged by him to be his ace and deed which was examined and approved by the Court and ordered to be Certified by the Clerk of the Larue County Court for record which is hereby accordingly done Given under my hand this 11th day of June 1855 Saml HAYCRAFT Clk by H.J. DUNCAN D.C. State of Kentucky LaRue County-- Sct I Erastus R. BURBA Clerk of the LaRue County Court do certify that on the 25th day of June 1855 the foregoing deed from Alexr MERRYFIELD heirs Comr to I.E. WOOTEN was lodged in my office for record and I have duly recorded the same together with the certificate from the Hardin Circuit Court Clerk endorsed there on this 12 day of July 1855 E.R.
