Hello Hardin County Researchers. I am researching a Brown line in Hardin County, KY. Here are the facts: James Brown, born about 1750-60 in VA. Have no other information about him. son: Joseph Brown, born about 1784, in VA, marries Susannah Carter in 1808 in Hardin County, KY 1. Presley, born 1809, Hardin County, KY, marries Mahala Beckwith, 1836, Spencer Co., IN, dies in Porter Co., IN 2. Nancy, born ?, marries Mingo Muere, 1829, in Spencer, IN, dies ? 3. Oliver, no further info 4. Asa, no further info 5-8. do not have names 9. Daniel Clinton, born 1824, IN, married Elizabeth Haskins, abt 1854, probably NE, where they both died. 10. Mary Ann, born 1825, IN, married Isaac Drellinger, died ? 11 Edward L, born 1826, IN, married Margaret Jane Fleming, 1851, Porter, IN, dies probably NE, where a group of the family moved. 12. Minerva, born 1828, IN, married Janus Branning, no further info 13. Alfred L, born 1830, IN, married Catherine Malone, 1860, no further info. Sources: Joseph's will, bio on Alfred, bio on Presley grandson, census records, marriage records, etc. Note: Joseph's wills an Elizabeth Lahew (Layhew) some of his property. Is she a sister? We are thinking perhaps James received land in Hardin County (Nelson County, then) for Rev War service? Have recently ordered some materials from FHC on Hardin County.
