Meador. He was listed on the Meade County Ky census as Gabe Meadow with wife Ada and children. By 1905 he was dead, as a Meade Co. deed I recently obtained showed his widow sold their land to Henry Rawlings in March, 1905. Rawlings already owned adjacent land. The deed listed the widow, Ada, and the following children and spouses: Guy S. and wife Suzelle; Gabe F; John D. and wife Harrie, and minor daughter Ada K. Gabe, the son of McHenry Meador, ran the hotel at Big Spring and was associated with the race track. Both were prominent in the area. Printed references I've seen list him as G.A. I went to a Meador family cemetery in Big Spring once about 30 yr ago and copied some of the tombstone info. However, I don't have a G.A. or Gabriel in my notes. I can't imagine he would not have been buried near McHenry or John C., his grandad.. Is there anyone in the area who could check the Big Spring Meador family cemetery for me? I recall it was a small cemetery not far from the site of the old hotel. G. A.'s death between 1900-1905 prohibits me from finding him on the KY death index. I've checked Big Spring Methodist and Baptist cemeteries online to no avail. G.A.'s widow, the former Ada Jones, remarried some years after Gabe's death to Alex D. McCans and lived in Louisville. Gabe's and Ada's daughter, Ada, married John Carr and lived in Louisville also. If you have knowledge of anyone of the aforementioned people, please respond here.
