Tuesday, January 26, 1909 Mrs. Spalding Alvey, widow of the late Spalding Alvey, died at her home in Rineyville on Sunday of organic heart trouble. Was 53 years old. Survived by 3 children: Charles and Damon Alvey, who are farmers near Rineyville, and Miss Laura Alvey, who lived with her mother. The deceased was a sister-in-law of J. M. Osborn, the contractor of Elizabethtown. Burial in St. Johns Church Cemetery yesterday. Tuesday, February 9, 1909 Miss Margaret Alvey of Clarkson visited her cousin, Miss Mayme Lasley of East View. Tuesday, March 16, 1909 Mrs. Minnie Warren and Miss Rosa Alvey was called to Louisville on Sunday to see their nephew, Gregory Alvey, who is very ill. Friday, April 30, 1909 B. H. Alvey of near Elizabethtown has purchased a new automobile. Tuesday, June 8, 1909 Mrs. Ellen Marriott of Cecilian celebrated her 84th birthday on June 6th at the home of her son, John Marriott of Cecilian. Present inclu- ded her five children: Mrs. B. H. Alvey, Mrs. W. W. Long, Mrs. Hardin Miller and Mrs. Henry Sutzer and John Marriott. Tuesday, June 22, 1909 The remains of Gregory Alvey, who died in Louisville, will be brought to Elizabethtown where the funeral will be held at the Catholic Church tomorrow. Burial in Catholic Cemetery near Elizabethtown. Was 22 years old and died of gastritis. Was the son of J. W. Alvey and was born and reared near Rineyville but had lived in Louisville but a short time. Friday, July 16, 1909 Miss Mary Alvey died at her home in Springfield, Mo. of consumption. Formerly lived in Elizabethtown and moved west with her parents, Mr & Mrs W. R. Alvey, in search of health. Tuesday, August 24, 1909 Miss Maggie Alvey of Louisville visited her cousin, Mrs. Matt Greenwell of Cecilian.
