We got confirmation last year of one of my lines back to 1642 in Isle of Wight, VA through DNA because one of my greats left a will that gave everything to his wife and children. That was all it said: my wife and children. Most researchers agreed that my ancestors were probably his children, but we had no proof until the DNA matched a proven descendant of the original ancestor. I guess they never thought that we would come looking for them and they might should sprinkle a few bread crumbs for us to follow. Good luck with it. Peggy
