Hi Tracey, Thomas Gilleland did have a son Thomas Jr., but I have not researched his children to see which ones lived in Hardin Co.KY and then moved to Washington Co., IN, by 1820. I just had that info about Thomas Gilleland's son John going to Washington Co., IN, and swapping IN and KY land with Thompson Rude in 1823. I need to do more research in Washington Co., IN, records. I am going to subscribe to the Washington Co., IN, mail list on rootsweb in a few minutes so I can start posting queries about the RUDEs and DEREMIAHs who moved there from Hardin Co., KY, 1814-1820. I have other Hardin Co., KY, families who moved across the Ohio River into Harrison Co. before 1820. I believe that Indiana was opening up 1800-1810 and there was a big migration to the new land. Keep in touch and let me know what you find out about your Thomas Gilleland, Jr., who was in Washington Co., IN, in 1825. I'll bet he is the son of Thomas Gilleland of Hardin Co., KY ! -- Helen Graves
