He had a landgrant in 1766 at the confluence of the north fork of the Shenandoah and Stoney Creek. His son Darby was born abt 1750 in Ireland and served in the Am. Rev. I know for a fact that my gggrandfather was Darby Downey who married Lydia McInturff in Mar. 1843 in Shenandoah. They eventually lived in Richardsville, Stevensburg township, Culpeper County, Va. I am trying to link this Darby (my gg) to the Darby Downey of Woodstock/Edinburg area. Must be related, same names keep popping up, John, William, Darby, Eleazor. Would be grateful for any info available and will share my info with yoiu.
