    2. Tuesday, July 27, 1909 J. Walker Stewart has purchased a Bush runabout from a Louisville auto firm. Friday, July 30, 1909 Miss Emma Stewart of East View will teach the school at Hardin Springs. Geo. Stewart, Road Supervisor of Hart Co., is lying unconscious at his home in Munfordville as a result of wound received from an un- known assailant on a lonely road 6 miles from Munfordville on Satur- day night. Persons driving on the road found him yesterday and no one had been able to find a clue to the identity of the assailant. There is little hope of his recovery. He is 65 years. Friday, August 6, 1909 Mrs. W. R. Stewart of East View had a son born Monday. He was named Joseph Robert Stewart. Tuesday, August 17, 1909 Miss Annie Stuart & Christian L. Wiseman were married this morning at the Catholic Church near Red Mills. Bride is a sister of the late R. E. Stuart. Groom is from Rineyville. Friday, August 20, 1909 Walker Stewart drove his new car through Louisville and is now enjoying it on the roads of Elizabethtown. Friday, September 10, 1909 Mrs. W. R. Stewart and children left for Whitesville to join her husband, who has employment there. She was accompanied by her father, Eld. J. D. Richardson. (East View News) Friday, September 24, 1909 Mr & Mrs E. M. Berry of Louisville visited their daughter, Mrs. Julia Stewart of East View. Friday, October 15, 1909 Mr & Mrs Walker Stewart left this morning for Richmond, Ky in their automobile. Friday, October 29, 1909 Wm. Lasley & Miss Kate Garland were married Tuesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Cecilian. Bride is the daughter of Mr & Mrs Thomas Garland of near Long Grove and sister of Mrs. Anna Stewart of near East View. Groom is the son of Mr & Mrs James Lasley of East View. Friday, November 5, 1909 Mrs. Wm. Gibson of Louisville visited her sister, Mrs. W. R. Stewart of Whitesville. (East View News) Mrs. Anna Stewart and children of East View visited her parents, Mr & Mrs. Thomas Garland of near Long Grove. Tuesday, December 14, 1909 Rev. W. P. Stuart, pastor of the Baptist Church left yesterday for Win- chester to be with his father, W. G. Stuart, who is dying of Bright's disease.

Johnson died Saturday in Elizabethtown. Born 75 years ago in Nelson Co. and moved to Louisville when a young man. While there he married and came to Red Mills in Hardin Co. shortly before the war. Later moved to Elizabethtown. Was a plasterer by trade. Married twice, his last wife survives with 2 children, Hugh Johnson of Louisville and Miss Nellie Johnson of Elizabethtown. He is the last of a large family, one os his sisters married Melford Stuart of Glendale. Member of Methodist Church.
