Tuesday, March 23, 1909 S. T. French visited his parents, Mr & Mrs Tom French. Langley and baby of Hodgenville, Harve Langley and baby, Edna, and Mrs. H. T. French of Louisville visited their parents, Mr & Mrs. John H. Langley of Big Clifty. Tuesday, April 20, 1909 Thomas, the 10-year old son of Gus French, died Saturday from scarlet fever near St. John. Survived by parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Burial in St. John Catholic Church Cemetery yesterday. Tuesday, May 4, 1909 Miss Frankie French of Louisville visited his (?) grandparents, Mr & Mrs Wm. Vessels of Cecilian. Tuesday, June 22, 1909 George Dent French, an aged citizen of Vine Grove, died suddenly there on Saturday of a heart attack. Was 69 years old. Lived in Vine Grove for 30 years. Was a bachelor and survived by a sister, Mrs. Mary Medley of near Rineyville. He was a painter by trade. Member of Catholic Church. Burial in St. Johns Church Cemetery yesterday. Capt. French served in the Confederate Army and served in Williams Co. under the command of Gen. H. B. Lyons. Later he was made Captain of a band of scouts doing duty in East Tn. Was 68 years old and had made all arrangements to go to the Confederate Home at Peewee Valley and spend his last days there with his old army comrades when death took him. Tuesday, June 22, 1909 Miss Ida Claggett visited her uncle, Lee French and family of Hardin Springs. (East View News) Friday, June 25, 1909 Mrs. Lucretia French died suddenly on June 23rd at the home of her son, Lewis French, several miles from Colesburg. Suffered a stroke of paralysis a few hours before and never recovered. Was 87 years old and was almost totally blind and deaf. Member of Catholic Church. Burial in Church Cem- etery at Colesburg. Dent French of Vine Grove died suddenly Saturday of heart failure. Was an uncle of Mrs. Anna Claggett of near East View. Tuesday, August 24, 1909 Clyde French of Louisville visited his grandmother, Mrs. Wm. Vessels of Cecilian. Tuesday, September 7, 1909 Elbert Keyes has gone to Tar Springs to visit his uncle, Wm.
