Friday, January 15, 1909 Mr & Mrs John Dillard, Mr & Mrs Clark Figg and Mrs. Jean Brown and children left Cecilian last Wednesday for Oklahoma City, Ok. to join Mr. Brown, who bought valuable tract of land. Tuesday, January 19, 1909 Henry Williams died at the age of 49 years in Enid, Ok. He was reared in Vine Grove. He was on his way to visit his sister, Mrs. Sam Brown of Meeker, Ok. when he became sick at Enid and got off the train. Was the son of Mrs. Amanda Williams of Vine Grove. Survived by wife, 4 children, 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Funeral at Enid. Friday, January 29, 1909 Mrs. Rebecca Nall of Nall's Valley and Dan Brown of Cecilian have been at the bedside of their brother, John Brown, who has pneu- monia. (Vine Grove News) Tuesday, February 2, 1909 John Brown died at the age of 73 years on his old home place near Vine Grove on Saturday of pneumonia. For a number of years he was in business at Vine Grove under the firm name of Ditto, Swan & Brown. Survived by 5 children: Joe and John Brown, Mrs. Ben Lancaster and Mrs. W. T. McDonough, all of whom reside in Vine Grove and Flaherty areas. (One was not listed.) Member of Catholic Church. Burial at St. Martins Cemetery near his home. Friday, February 5, 1909 Miss Laura Brown of Elizabethtown visited relatives in Louisville and with her uncle, Clyde Brown. (Vine Grove News) Friday, February 12, 1909 Floyd Brown, a farmer living about 2 miles from Cecilian, will marry for the third time on Feb. 23rd to Miss Josie Bradley of LaRue Co. The marriage will take place at St. John's Catholic Church with Father J. J. Abell performing the ceremony. Bride is from Athertonville and the dau- ghter of Mrs. Martha Bradley and a sister of Mrs. Sim Durbin of near Cecilian. They will reside on the groom's farm near Cecilian. Miss Josie Bradley of LaRue Co. & Floyd Brown of Cecilian will be married Feb. 23rd at St. Johns Church. Miss Bradley is a sister of Mrs. Sim Durbin. Tuesday, February 23, 1909 John Floyd Brown & Miss Josie Bradley were married at the Catholic Church at St. John this morning. Bride is the daughter of Mrs. Martha Bradley of LaRue Co. She is a sister of Mrs. Sim Durbin of Cecilian. Groom is a farmer and the son of George Brown. They will reside on the groom's farm near Cecilian. Mrs. B. D. Brown visited her sister, Mrs. W. C. Tuesday, March 2, 1909 Dan Brown of Cecilian visited his son, Clyde Brown of Vine Grove. Friday, March 12, 1909 Miss Lizzie Brown visited her uncle, Charles Hayden at Cecilian. (May's Grove News) Tuesday, March 16, 1909 Miss Minnie Stovall visited her sister, Mrs. Clyde Brown. (Vine Grove News) Friday, March 26, 1909 Judge Wm. Brown of Glendale died Tuesday at the age of 88 years. Died at the home of his only daughter, Mrs. Joe Vanmeter in Glen- dale. Born of a prominent family in Bourbon Co. and moved to Hardin Co. many years ago. His wife died several years ago, leaving a dau- ghter, Mrs. Vanmeter. He was an uncle of the late Governor John Young Brown and a brother to Col. Dick Brown of Central Ky. politics. Burial in old Johnson Cemetery near his home on Wednesday. Friday, April 16, 1909 Miss Annie Daugherty of Lyons, Ky. & Alonzo Edlin of near Elizabeth- town were married at the home of John Brown in Hodgenville on Wed- nesday. Bride is the daughter of G. R. Daugherty, a farmer. Groom is from Hardin Co. Friday, April 23, 1909 Will Brown of Paynesville visited his parents in Stithton. Tuesday, May 4, 1909 Monroe Bradley of Athertonville visited his aunts, Mrs. Sim Durbin and Mrs. Floyd Brown of Cecilian. Friday, June 25, 1909 Mrs. Annie Brown died at the home of her parents, Mr & Mrs Lon Ward, who lives several miles from Stithton in the Atchers area, Monday from a complication of diseases. Was a widow. Burial in family burial ground near her home on Tuesday. Friday, July 2, 1909 Clyde Brown and family visited Luther Patterson and family at Stithton and on Sunday attended the funeral of Mrs. Wm Brooks. (Stithton News) Tuesday, July 6, 1909 Mrs. Martha Hopkins suffered a paralytic stroke at the home of her son-in-law, D. M. Brown, near town yesterday. Friday, July 9, 1909 Mrs. Frank Brown of Mi. visited her parents, Mr & Mrs A. Buhlman of Tip Top. Tuesday, July 20, 1909 Miss Fredrica Venable of Louisville & George Parmalee of Geneva, N. Y. will be married at the home of the bride's aunts, Misses Eliza- beth and May Brown in Louisville tomorrow. Friday, July 23, 1909 Mrs. E. L. Cralle and daughter, Evelyn of Norman, Ok. visited her parents, Mr & Mrs Brown of In. and are now visiting J. W. Cralle and family and Mrs. Ada Hoover. (East View News)
