Padgett also from Colesburg. Both were members of St. Clare's Catholic Church. They had a son, William Lee Carlisle who married Mary Lucy Davis from Concordia, Kentucky. They eventually moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Does anyone have any information on this Carlisle family? I cannot find any information in the census for william and Mary and if they had other kids besides William Lee. Thanks for any info you can share.

Fowler, bpt April 19, 1891. marriage: Carlisle & Sherrard, May 30, 1894. William H. Carlisle to Elizabeth E. Sherrard. Wit. Clarence Huff & L. Lissa Wise. baptism: Carlisle, Mary Claudia, d/o William H. Carlisle & Elizabeth Sherrard, born June 27, 1895. Spon: Minnie Eliza Huff, bpt. Aug. 11, 1895. Were these the same William H.? I doubt it. *I think the Wm. H. that married Mary Padgett was William Henry Carlisle, s/o William Carlisle & Rosella Wise, born Jan 5, 1862. bpt Feb 8, 1862. *I think the Wm. H. that married Elizabeth Sherrard was s/o James Thomas Carlisle & Laura English born Feb. 1870. There was much inter marrying between Carlisle, Padgett, Sherrard & Wise and William seemed to be a favorite name. They all had a William & a James. I really can't tell which goes with which. There was a Mary Padgett born Sept. 9, 1863 d/o William Padgett & Rebecca Jane Dugan. She is probably the Mary Aloma Padgett above. If I can be more help or if you have firmer dates let me know.
