It does look as if Little York is a small community unto itself, with lines of demarcation to separate it from the surrounding township (Philadelphia). At least, it looks to me as if Philadelphia township continues below Little York, so must have surrounded it? This is very interesting. Thanks so much for pointing it out; I would never have looked at pg. 6 otherwise. Looking at the map again, I think it's pretty plain that a specific location, a dot on the map, is labeled "Little York." So, if we find our families within a reasonable distance of that section of pg. 6, they probably did live near there - and therefore in the area that became Meade Co. If it helps anyone else, mine are 13 pgs. beyond the Little York section (on pg. 19), and show up in Meade Co. for the 1830 census - so if your family falls between, chances are they were in that northern area, too.
