This is an email to Sally Music, where-ever you are... your email has changed... I have kept all your Carter messages to me and was reviewing them today. I know now at least one way that Susannah Carter was born in North Carolina. On the Mortality Schedules of Porter County, Indiana, Indexed by Chris Hough for the Genealogy Dept of the Porter County Public Library, it lists the following information: Brown, Susan, Age 83, Birth State: "North Carol", Death Month 01/01/1870, Profession - without occp., cause: debility, days ill: -, Township: Washington, Father's Birthplace: - , Mother's Birthplace: -. Also several of her children list their mother's birth place as North Carolina. I have not checked out any North Carolina records for my Carter line yet - but it should not be too hard... How many counties where there in NC at that time period? Just another thing to do... Oh! by the way, I have changed my email address: [email protected] Also, I am thinking that my James Brown had a son named Samuel because Samuel turns up next to him on the tax records about 4-5 years - BEFORE his other sons. So it is possible that the Samuel that married Tabitha Carter is ours... (Although some one else claimed his father was someone else...). But since my Joseph Brown married Tabitha's sister - two brothers marrying two sisters... sounds good! Oh well, another mystery. See you!
