Hi Larry, I agree with you that we need to document the children of Samuel and Susanah (Mayhew) Harris. So far, all that I have is the info from the book written by Clifton Harris, "From Here to Yonder", which I have you the thank for. There is alot of new info waiting to be found. I have been lucky enough to do some research on the Daper manuscripts resently at a library as I was trying to document the time our Harris family spent at Corn Island with George Rogers Clark, 1776. My first 2 days were overwhelming as there are hundreds of volumes in these manuscripts. Unfortunely, I have no new info on our Harris'. Each year I stick by these "roots web" mailing lists hoping to find some new info and lost limbs of our Harris tree. I was very happy recently when Julie Keyser began her research and was able to place my Jacob Harris as a uncle of William McMahon Harris. And therefore, a brother to John Mayhew Harris who settled first in Davis County Iowa and then to Gentry County, Missouri. John Mayhew also had a brother Samuel, who married Phoebe Fulkerson. Samuel was born in 1790. John Mayhew was born 1807. Jacob was born 1810. I know from the census that we are missing many children of this family yet. I have never done anything on land grants so I'm not much help to you on that question. So basicly, I am in the same situation as you are. Hoping for new documentation on Samuel and Susannah (Mayhew) Harris and down through their son James Harris, which would be my line. As for the Molly Harris listed in the first meeting for the Beaver Dam Baptist Church in 1804, is Molly a nickname for Mary? Also is Polly a nickname for Mary? If Molly is a nickname then this could be our Mary, married to John Mayhew Harris, son of Samuel and Susannah (Mayhew) Harris? This would identify Molly!! I would like to identify Jonathan Harris and as i indicated in a previous e-mail attached below, John Mayhew harris would have turned 21 about 1782 and if married then his son would be 21 or 22 in 1804 and that could be Jonathan and Catherine [Peters] Harris listed in that first meeting of the Beaver Dam Babtist chuch of 1804 or he could be a son of James Harris. All for now.
