    3. Mike and Julie After reading your e-mails several times, my one conclusion would be .... HELP!!!! Thank god I wrote down where I found all of the data I have and so far there are three main sources. Recollections, thanks to Julie, the book, "Here to Yonder" that we all have, and Jimmy Harris has a site on the web. I lost the password but if I'm not mistaken Julie still has it.. I also have almost all of the books on Hardin Co. that Ancestral Trails had for sale but they don't help for the very early years of research. By the way, I'm glad you cleared up that typo with Julie on Samuel Mayhew Harris. I wouldn't have known where to stick another "Mayhew" And speaking of Mayhew's, in my records, the original John Mayhew, did have a son named John but it was John H. Harris. Guess he thought it would get alittle too crowded with James naming one of his sons John Mayhew too. I'm going back and review all of my data, and their sources over the week-end. Maybe I can add to this confusion Mon. or Tues. Thanks for clearing up the fact that there was two other Harris clans in Hardin. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent chasing my tail and asking "could there be more than one Harris family, and if so why didn't Clifton ever mention that in his book. The reason, I guess, is because when Clifton started his research, he had access to family bibles, letters, land deeds, etc. and it just didn't occur to him that people would get lost tracing their own family line. Talk to you soon. Regards, Larry --------------------------------------------------- Letter content was scanned by WinAntiVirus 2005. No threat detected. 3. Larry and all, Larry I can't wait to read what new and confusing information you can add to our exciting Harris line. I'll be on vacation for a short while come Monday, so it will be awhile before I can look over what everyone has discovered in my absence. I do want to say however, if any one ever makes it to Gentry Co. and goes to any of their libraries, I know that my gggrandfather, William McMahon Harris, wrote several other letters about his early days there to the historical society, and I have always wanted to find them. So if any one gets the chance, see if you can't locate more of his writings.
