    3. Sandi, I like your theory of a possible wrong middle initial and the possibility of three wives. I really wish I could find out for certain who is who. I do find it hard to believe though, that a marriage record and the census would both have John's middle initial wrong. This is the part that confuses me. I also find it interesting that John Stone is not listed as one who lived with them, however they have listed a John M. Harris born about 1836. I wonder if they just assumed that, that particular John M. was a Harris and not possibly John Stone. John Stone was from Elizabeth's first marriage and was written of often by William McMahon in his book as he was fond of this particular older half brother. Also interesting to note, William M. always mentions John as his "Half" brother, he does not mention that about any of his other siblings. I notice that John Stone must have been living with them when they were residing in the home they rented from Mr. Mize, because on page 2 of William M.'s book, after Mr. Mize shot Mr. Brewster, he told John Stone about it. This whole problem with names being used over and over in the Harris family (which continues to this day) leads me to believe that "Frank Zappa" had it right when he named his children things like "Moon Unit", because NO ONE will ever doubt who she belonged to. They may wonder, however, if she (Moon Unit) was a boy or a girl. Anyway, thank you Sandi for all your further investigative work, and I hope I haven't ruined this to much for all you other Harris fans out there. I'll go work on this puzzle some more, it's late, so good night.
