After Mary's first husband died she married Clement Gristy ( born? died 1814) and they had 8 known children one being James A. Gristy born ca 1786 St Marys Co., Md and died ? at Scotland Co., Mo. There is a town north west of Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., Ky called Rineyville, Ky and that is probably where James A. Riney lived before migrating to Missouri?? My father was born in Hardin Co., Ky and our Clark family lived, at one time, not far from Rineyville, Ky. I can give you some information on the other 7 children of Clement Gristy if you should want it. I will check to see if I can find out anything more on James A. Gsisty for you. I can tell you the Riney's came to the colnies from Ireland and they were connected to the O'Neill clan in Ireland. It is possible that Riney's and Gristy's came into Nelson Co., Ky at the same time...Riney's arrived in Nelson co., Ky around 1800 from St Mary's Co., Ky. Believe they left St Mary's county and went up to Fort Pitt (Pittsburgh) overland and then went down the Ohio River to Maysville, Ky and thence overland again to then Nelson co., Ky. Did this in the dead of winter and arrived in springtime. Any questions just let me know....cclark4114@aol.com. Chas of tucson

This was passed on, it might be of great help to some of you. Take care, Jude In a message dated 6/16/2006 7:47:09 PM Pacific Standard Time, Hdanw@aol.com writes: I have been advised by e-mal by the webmaster of the Virginia Department of transportation that the pre-Revolutionary [as I remember] road orders now has its own website. He gave me this URL: _http://vtrc.virginiadot.org/PUBS.aspx_ (http://vtrc.virginiadot.org/PUBS.aspx) As many North Carolinians and Kentuckians (and possibly South Carolinians), and even post-Revolutionary Georgians had Virginia roots, it may be worthwhile doing a search for your surnames. These are a little difficult to differentiate from other publications, but as I remember these are the main authors of these Road Orders: Do a name search for the authors: Pawlett, Nathaniel Mason (sometimes with Howard Newton) Young, Douglas Jay, K. Edward Miller, Ann Brush Boyd, Tyler Jefferson These do NOT pertain to every county in Virginia, but if your people were in colonial Virginia, its worth a search or two or three or four. We have no record of a daughter who married a Johnson, but he did receive a 3rd interest in his grandfather's estate. Our assumption is that he might have been raised in the grandfather's household since the other grandsons listed received only a cow. The will also listed the fathers of the other grandsons, but not John Johnson's. ==== KYHARDIN Mailing List ==== NOTICE: Posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc. (in other words - spam) is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal.
