    3. Can I muddy the waters a little bit more for you?? I found William and Hannah in the 1850 census and there he is listed as being born in England and she is listed as being born in Canada. Could it be N.S. Instead of W.S ?? -------Original Message------- From: LEE CHARLOTTE BEYER Date: 07/09/06 16:53:54 To: KYHARDIN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [KYHARDIN] Follow up on "what does W.S. mean" in place of birth space I sent out an SOS yesterday asking what W.S. meant when used for the place of birth. You have all been so wonderful. I contacted Mary and she is in the process of moving and is having trouble finding the census this was on. But she sent me what she could find and I am copying it to this email. If she finds the census she will send it to me. I hope this helps. 2. Teresa Munn
    3. Hello everyone, I am a new member. I live in SC and can't travel to KY to do my own research. I hope some of you who live in Hardin Co. can help me. My great grandfather was Charles VINCENT Farmer, B. 1847/49 in Hardin Co. I have no idea who his parents were. I can't find him on the 1850, 1860, or 1870 census anywhere in KY. (By 1880 he was married and living in NC) My cousin says she remembers Grandma telling her that Vincent was orphaned. His parents were killed in a buggy accident (she thinks that's what Grandma told her.) Maybe someone could find their obits. Quite by accident I found their marriage license and certificate (1877) on the Hardin Co. Clerk's web site. I had always assumed they were married in NC since that is where Mary E. Edwards (my great grandmother) was from. I was astonished when I actually pulled up and printed off an image of those 130 year-old documents.! Congratulations Hardin Co. I don't know of another county in any state that has made it so easy to obtain documents we need to do genealogical research over the internet. Sadly, however, parents' names were not listed on either the license or certificate. May I hear from any of you who have Farmers from Hardin Co., Ky among your ancestors. I don't see how I will ever find out who Vincent's parents were without someone helping me who lives there. Thanks in advance for anyone's help. Teresa Munn
