    3. I am not related to the Sadlers but my niece's husband descends from them and I did some research for him. I found that John Saddler was born about 1829 in Ky and was married to Elizabeth Shawler on Feb 28, 1852. They had the following children according to the 1860 and 1870 census of Hardin Co.: 1. Sarah J, born 1854 and married Wm D Best 2. David, born Jan 17, 1856 and married Mary Elizabeth Helm 3, Catharine, born 1857, married Wilford Scott Driscill 4. Eliza, born 1863, married Eli T Hohimer 5. William, born 1860 6. Nancy, born 1868 There were probably others that died in infancy. This John Saddler/Sadler was the son of Robert Saddler and Wilmoth Moore, both from Va. Hope this helps. Carolyn > My wife's ancestor is John Sadler born in 1821. 2. My wife's ancestor is John Sadler born in 1821. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Shawler. They had four children: David, Catherine, William and Elizabeth. I am wondering if John and your ancestor Samuel could be related. David was married to Casandes Martin and they had a daughter Golda. Golda was my wife's grandmother. Maybe we can share information to determine more about the potential connection. I am looking for John's parents...and other potential connections.

    3. From book Saint Clare Church by Kennedy baptism: Carlisle, William Oscar, s/o W. H. Carlisle & Mary Aloma Padgett, born Jan. 9, 1891. Spon; Mary C. Fowler, bpt April 19, 1891. marriage: Carlisle & Sherrard, May 30, 1894. William H. Carlisle to Elizabeth E. Sherrard. Wit. Clarence Huff & L. Lissa Wise. baptism: Carlisle, Mary Claudia, d/o William H. Carlisle & Elizabeth Sherrard, born June 27, 1895. Spon: Minnie Eliza Huff, bpt. Aug. 11, 1895. Were these the same William H.? I doubt it. *I think the Wm. H. that married Mary Padgett was William Henry Carlisle, s/o William Carlisle & Rosella Wise, born Jan 5, 1862. bpt Feb 8, 1862. *I think the Wm. H. that married Elizabeth Sherrard was s/o James Thomas Carlisle & Laura English born Feb. 1870. There was much inter marrying between Carlisle, Padgett, Sherrard & Wise and William seemed to be a favorite name. They all had a William & a James. I really can't tell which goes with which. There was a Mary Padgett born Sept. 9, 1863 d/o William Padgett & Rebecca Jane Dugan. She is probably the Mary Aloma Padgett above. If I can be more help or if you have firmer dates let me know.
