Looking for info on John Miller who was born 1785 in Pa. and died in Hardin Co., Ky. His second wife was Sally Meyer (b. 1795 Ky.) and children were Michael, Elizabeth, Abraham, Dolly, Violetty, Delila, David, Julian Ann, Miles, Melissa Ellan and Sally. One source indicates that John came to Ky. about 1795 and that all his children were born in Hardin Co. I am trying to determine if this John Miller could be son of my David Miller who came to Nelson Co. from Pa. in 1795/6. Art Miller, Louisville

Hello Larry: What do your books show for Henry Buckhannon (Buck) STRADER, born in White Mills, Hardin Co., 15 Jan 1860. His parents were Jerome Green STRADER and Margarite Elizabeth DAVIS. Hattie Elizabth ALLEN, born in Nolynn (Nolin), Hardin Co., 10 Apr 1865. Her parents were James Monroe ALLEN and Eleanor (Elyn) M. TABB. Buck had a first marriage to someone named Florence. She died very young. Is there any record of this with, hopefully, her last name? Hattie and Buck were married 19 Jan 1894 in Nolynn, so his first marriage would probably be around 1891/92. Hattie and Buck had four children: Maude Allen, b. 2 Nov 1894 Nannie Novella, b. 1 Mar 1896 Lulu Florence, b. 13 Sep 1900 Henry Harland, b. 13 Jul 1905 If you can find the name of Margarite's father it would be a great help. Thank you for any information you might have on this family. Shirley L3532@aol.com wrote: > > Well gang, let's put some life in this list. I am looking for any information regarding the marriage of BARNEY SHUTE RADLEY, son of ICHABOD and HANNAH (BUSH) RADLEY of Elizabethtown in Hardin, Co., KY. I don't have a wife's name for Barney Shute Radley (aka "Shoot" or B.S. Radley). My gg-grandmother, HATTIE/HETTY ANN RADLEY, b. 1815, Hardin Co., KY, is said (in a Bible Record) to have been the dau. of B.S. RADLEY of KY and that she m. JOHN SEARS, also b. in KY, in 1836/7, Coles Co., IL. Ichabod and Hannah (Bush) Radley were m. in 1794, Hardin Co., KY. She was the dau. of Christopher and Hannah Bush, early settlers of Hardin Co. area (1780). Ichabod was from New Jersey, and was an early school teacher in KY. Most of this Radley family went to Clark/Coles/Cumberland Co.'s, Illinois by 1828. Donna Sears Chernick

My great X4 grandataher was John Caldwell. He married Elizabeth Akers (Austin/Rhoda Thompson) from Montgomery county VA. They came to Hardin county about 1810ish. After John died in 1824, Elizabeth remarried a Campbell Sutton in 1832. Are you part of Josiah and Sarah group??? Lynne Ditmore Genealogy: Collecting Dead Relatives! And Sometimes A Live Cousin !!
Hi Larry Sorry to say but the USGS ampping service has Akers Valley latitude and longitude somwhere near Sonora, Upton and Millerstown. I was in Elizabethtown last week and an older gentleman at the P/Brown House told me he thought it was closer to Sonora. Lynne Lynne Ditmore Genealogy: Collecting dead relatives!
Akers Valley can be pinpointed by using the Tiger Map browser. You can also print out the map. The area is about halfway between Upton and Clarkson, KY. The Akers Valley Catholic Cemetery is also here. This cemetery is located near Highway 720, between Flint Hill and Spurrier, in the area known as Akers Valley. The church is no longer standing, but the foundation can be seen. I'm not sure what particular Akers family originated this name, but quite a few are buried in the cemetery there, including my gggrandfather, George Washington Akers, Sr., his wife, Ann Mary White, and other relatives.
