    3. >From the "Louisville Commercial" newspaper, December 31, 1878 summary of violent deaths, statewide, throughout 1878: August 15th - H. N. HOLDSWORTH shot Phillip ARNOLD at Elizabethtown. August 26th - Tom REEGON and B. TWEEDY killed Mrs. Lucinda JOHNSON (prostitute) at Elizabethtown. December 24th - Evan VANMETRE, in a difficulty at Glendale, received two slashes with a knife in the hands of an antagonist, one reaching from the right shoulder to the left hip; the other laying open the bowels. December 26th - John SMITH, a Negro man, while drunk, crawled into a barn near Glendale, and when found, was frozen to death. December 27th - At Elizabethtown, two Negroes, John WALLACE and Bob TAYLOR, got into an altercation, during which WALLACE used a pistol and put a ball into TAYLOR's stomach. End-------

    3. In case anyone may want some copies of what I have... I have a death certificate for John Samuel Morrison, d. 17 Oct 1940 in Lafayette, IN. He was born and grew up in Stephensburg, b. 30 June 1856. He is the son of William and Nancy Sanders Morrison. I also have a death certificate for his wife, Jennie Eliza Turner Morrison. She died 7 Nov 1928 in Tippecanoe Co, IN. She was born in Oneida Co , NY. I have copies of marriage docs for Thomas W. Morrison and Elizabeth Vanmetre; William C. Morrison and Elizabeth Daugherty; Andrew T. Morrison and Dinice Jane Rice; William Morrison and Susannah Kirkpatrick. I am looking for more now. Will catch up. My GGG Grandparents were: 1850 Census-Dist # 2, Hardin Co, Kentucky, Aug 12, 1850 Henry Morrison 52, B Virginia Farmer $2500.00 Sarah (Hunphrey) 47, B Kentucky Elizabeth 18, B Kentucky Mary 17, B Kentucky Sarah 12, B Kentucky Elam 15, B Kentucky Henry 12, B Kentucky Margaret 10, B Kentucky Susan 8, B Kentucky Hiram A 5, B Kentucky Thomas 4, B Kentucky Their daughter, Lucinda, B 1830, married in 1846, to John W Williams. I found them accidently when I put the name Shadrack Carter on the LDS family search site. There are 571 pages of information at this site. If you feel that it is possible that your people were in Hardin County because of G. R. Clark, or were there at that time frame (1778-), you might want to check for your family member there.
