    3. I would appreciate any information on the parents of MAUDE LEE PAYNE, born in Hardin County, KY (Elizabethtown) 08 Feb 1871. Her father was JAMES PAYNE, middle initial either L. Or M. I would like to know his date of birth and death and name of his spouse. I am also looking for information on CHARLES ALLEN. He married Maude Lee Payne in Hardin County, KY, on 27 Mar 1890. In 1895 they were living in Pennsylvania, where a son, WIlliam Harmon, was born. Thanks for any help you can offer. Ruama Roper

    3. Oh boy!! There are Joseph Kirkparicks all over the place.. 'I didn't find a Eleanor Friend and Joseph Kirkpatrick. But I did find a marriage in Hardin county between Elizabeth Friend and John Wilson in 1797 with Joseph Kirkpatrick as surety. There is a marriage for James Kirkpatrick and Elizabeth Friend in 1823 Hardin county. I found a Joseph Kirkpatirck's will with a wife Hannah in Hardin county dated 1819. There is an article about Phillip's Fort and the first settlers, Joseph Kirkpatrick and Banner Friend in the winter 1994 Ancestral News. Can you give me a date near what Joseph and Eleanor's marriage would have taken place. Lorena Thanks, but I'm pretty darn lucky I live about 5 miles from the Allen County Public Library here in Ft Wayne IN and we have about 99.9 % of all the books published for Hardin/Grayson/Logan/Alllen and Simpson counties in KY. It's the missing or broken stones and destroyed records that drive me nuts!! BUT that the FUN of doing family history!!! Keeps me going to library about 12-15 hours a week... Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!     3. This is a letter that was sent to the researcher in 1940 Miss Lillian Crume Vine Grove Kentucky The pension is very hard to read, and some of the pages are almost blank, So I've decided to use the Letter that told what was in the Pension application. Isaac Vertrees, son of Jacob and Catharena Vertrees was born 15 Apr 1765. place not shown. He enlisted in PA. in August 1776, severed as private in Captains Eli Miers's and James Garnahan's companies Colonels Muckey's and Daniel Brodhead's 8 th PA. regiment, was in the battle of Brandwine and Boundbrook, in many skirmishes, and discharged in Sept 1779 Issac was allowed Pension on account of his service in the Revloutionary War on his application executed 7 Sep 1818. He resided in Hardin Co. KY. He died there 5 Apr 1822. Isaac Vertrees married 5 Dec 1781, Elizabeth Barkhirmer, who was born in 1761. The names of her parents and the place of her birth were not given. She died 2 Apr 1838 at the home of her son Jacob Vertrees, in Hardin Co. KY. This Soldier and his wife, Elizabeth had only two Children Jacob and William: Jacob was born 23 Oct 1782, married 3 Dec 1806 or 1816, Elizabeth Young, who was born 18 Jan 1786. Jacob died 16 Dec 1846 leaving no issue. William died 16 Oct 1822; the name of his wife is not given, but he was survived by Children Isaac, born 25 Oct 1802; William and Hester, who married 29 Feb, 1824, Martin Hall One Elizabeth Vertrees married 15 May 1823, John Brandenburg no relationship between her and the Soldier's family was stated

    3. Hi everyone: I am searching for anyone that might connect to the following Hoskins, Hodskins, or Hodgkins families. Most are in the counties above, some were probably born in MD, I suspect most have MD connections. I am trying to piece together these families to try and determine their relationships (if any) to one another and to Joseph Randolph (Randle) Hoskins who was in Washington County by 1799 and died in 1834 (buried at St. Charles in Marion County) He was probably married to Susannah Mollihorne (of Charles or St. Mary's County MD) and probable children include Ann "Nancy" Hoskins, Vincent Hoskins, and John (Benjamin?) Hoskins. Ann Hodgkins married Thomas Hamilton before 1782, died 1819?. Has a child buried at St. Rose Cemetery. Is she mother of Hoskins Hamilton? Who are her parents? Aquilla Hoskins - daughter Mary Ann born 1808 married John Blandford Edward Hoskins - married Sarah Ann Lanham children include Aquilla born 1832, James Benedict born 1834. Resided in Washington and Daviess Counties. Is he a son of Aquilla above? Elizabeth Hoskins born 1820 married Samuel French, child Joseph Aquilla French -- is she a daughter of Aquilla above? Joseph Hoskins son of Rachel?? married Mary Higdon in Nelson County in 1805. Could this be son of Randall? Mary is d/o Thomas Higdon. Martha Hoskins born 1833, married Linus Warren at St Clair's in Hardin County in 1851. Nancy Hoskins, born circa 1798, married -- Kendall, residing Hardin County in 1850. Ann "Nancy" Hoskins married Dickson Kirk in Washington County at Holy Name of Mary in 1813. She died 1836 in Grayson County. I have seen father as "Rudolph Hoskins of VA" Could this be Randolph Hoskins? Sallie Hoskins married Joseph Hayden before 1794, probably in MD. Child Sallie Hayden bn Maryland in 1794. (daughter Sallie married Benedict Downs in Washington Co in 1814). Other children: Mary "Polly" married Joseph Mattingly, Elizabeth married John Hagan. Who are Sallie Sr's parents???
