    3. Rochelle, I have the book and your Johnston Edgar is not listed. Also, he is not listed as a grantor at the Hardin County on-line site. I checked the Hardin County Newspaper Abstracts for 1829 -1893 by Carolyn Wimp and did not find any reference to Johnston Edgar. 3. According to the Hardin County Newspaper Abstracts by Carolyn Wimp, Young Goodman died in March 1900 and Barbara Goodman died in March 1889 (I don't have the actual record in front of me as I write this). I would like to know where they were buried. According to census records, both were born in the 1810's in Virginia. I would appreciate any help and thank you in advance. Debbie Horine

Thanks! By any chance, could you check to see if you can find will of James' wife Jane McMahon Peters? Or anything on her I do not know when she died. Know Hardin Co. place of death, but she probably died between 1880 (Census shows her 84) and 1890). Or could you refer me to a source that would give death dates as above? Thanks so very much! 3. Debbie, I got Jamaes Peters' will! Carol

    1. Re: [KYHARDIN] Re: I am so close to Salt Lake Library-where do I start
    2. I am not Mormon, but have had lots of experience with records at Salt Lake. It is true that many of the records sources, especially those on line are submitted by individuals. These are only clues to help you develop a direction for your search. But if you are interested in original records they are there on microfilm for anyone to search. Land Records, probates, wills, births, deaths and marriages as well as many others are there to study. The outcome is in the hands of the researcher. The cautions are the same as for any data submitted by a researcher, look at the orginial records. And that is where you can find many of the original records. Millie

    2. Can anyone help me with the Will Book for Hardin County, I'm looking for Thomas Smith. It would not be his Will because he died in Ohio County, but he was from Hardin and I'm hoping I can find some of his family. Possibly naming him in their will. He was born in the 1760's and died in Ohio County in 1827. Thank you! Sandra [email protected]

    1. Re: [KYHARDIN] Re: I am so close to Salt Lake Library-where do I start
    2. All microfilmed records are available on loan to local Family History Centers. But...books, and maps are not. The help of the trained staff is also a major plus for being in Salt Lake. If you are truly interested in what is there, go to Familysearch.org and look at the library catalog. You can print out any sources that are of interest to you and organize them in a logical order. Then go to the Family Histoy Library and spend your time wisely. It is great to work in your jammies at 3 in the morning, but the online sources probably have 25 % of the records for all areas, if that much. Not all of these records are at the FHL but they have at least three times as many records on film. I am an avid online researcher, but also have gone to Salt Lake to research probably 20 different times or more, spending a solid week each time, making wonderful advances in my work. Millie
