Mary, Do you have any info on any Peters' marriages between 1830. I know that 2 or 3 of Thomas Peters' children married sometime in the 1830's. One name was Polly Peters who m. John Chenault some time in that period, but I can be more specific in names if you have that info. James b. 1796-I'm looking for his father-the only clue I have is that a Thomas Peters signed the marriage bond (1824)OF James S. Peters and Jane McMahan. Thomas Peters, though, according to the Census, was b. 1780 which does not seem likely for the father, but he and Elizabeth Peters had many children. Does anyone have access to land records that could look up something for me? I am trying to find information on a blacksmith shop in Sonora. It was established in February 1902 by Morrison and Spencer. I believe the Spencer was Kendrick W. Spencer. Kendrick died in December 1937. Sandra, There are 2 Thomas Smith's listed in the Will Book by Mary Josephine Jones. The first is in the will of Washington Whitaker on December 22, 1833 where a Thomas Smith was a witness. The second is the actual will of a Thomas Smith for May 8, 1835 which was proven August 17, 1835. In this will, it mentions a wife Anne J. Smith and "our sons William S. Good point. My mom has submitted tons of her genealogical stuff to the LDS library, so I'm assuming she at least got her middle name right. She did however mess up our marriage date on a record she gave me and I never thought to check the records at the LDS library. Will have to do that now.
