I have a supplemental application in DAR thru Michael, then Benjamin & Catherine, then Phillip & Rebecca. Have a copy of Catherine & Benj. marriage record, census which shows their ages, copy of her will, and dates from her tombstone. It says, d. May 5, 1858 a. 52 y., 10 mo., 23 d. which would make a birthdate of Aug 13, 1805. They are both buried in the Hargan Cemetery at Ft. Knox, KY. Michael is buried on Ft. Knox as well, in Patterson Chapel Cemetery. Let me know if you still need any of this info. My e-mail is [email protected] Twyla

Her ancestor is Matthew Grimes, possible brother to my Emanuel Grimes. She has done quite a bit of research on Grimes and Graham. She did find that your Aaron Graham had a brother, Matthew Graham born abt. 1770. She feels this possibly is her Matthew who lived in Grayson Co., KY. I do believe Grimes and Grahams in KY were related. Martha

    1. Isham Scott and Jane Johnson Divorce; James Peters Civil War Reco rds
    2. Horine, Debbie L
    3. I am researching a James Peters and a Jane Johnson. When the two married in Hardin County January 7, 1887, both had been married before. Jane had married an Isham T. Scott in 1872. I had made the assumption that Isham had died - I know, not a good think to do!!! Yesterday, I received approximately 150 pages of Civil War Pension records on James Peters. To my surprise, the papers state that Jane's first husband Isham and she divorced in 1882. My question is this - is there any index to divorce records in Hardin County for that time period? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Debbie Horine

    2. Priscilla, What a treasure you are. Would you be so kind as to try to find anything on the following; Wilhite, Wilhoite, Willhite, Willhoite, Wilheit Snelling, Snellon, Snellen, Schnelling Anything would be helpful, marriages, deaths, births from 1874 to present. I know their was a murder of Leonard Willhoite in 1963, near Elizabethtown. Happy Hunting, Louita [email protected]

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Grimes/Graham Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2AB.2ACI/1978.2448.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Velma, Yes, I believe at one time Grimes and Graham were of the same line. I believe my line comes from Emanuel Grimes from Grayson County, KY although I have no proof of that. The oldest descendent I can prove is Cadwallader Grimes. He had eight son's in Hardin County. I have copies of records that have him using the Graham name and some of his son's married under the Graham name. Recently I found a grandson of his marrying under the Graham name. It appears to me that my line switched back and forth on the Grimes/Graham name. All of them died under the Grimes name. I also believe that most of the Grimes back then could not read or write and someone else had to write their name for them, possibly writing it the way "they" thought it should be spelled. I would be interested in knowing more of your Graham line. It would be interesting to see if there were any connections. I have read of Aaron Graham, Jacob Graham and Martha Terry before. Martha

    3. Oh my! This is another one of those dreams coming true Priscilla! LOL. I just found out this week that I had Humphreys in Oldham and Shelby Counties that are connected somehow to the Humphreys in Hardin. I don't know the first name of a peson in Hardin, but that Humphreys were in both places.
