In statement of May 20, 1912, James Anderson was 70 years old and living in Quincy, Lewis Co. KY. He was married to Mrs. Rachel A. Anderson (Shover)(Hunt) -married on May 3, 1893 in Greenup by the Rev. F. Harding at the bride's home. James was previously married to Louisa Timberlake Aug. 29, 1864 by Squire McKay. Louisa died Aug. 23, 1871 in Greenup. James then married Sohia Culpe (nee Smith) Oct. 10, 1872. Sophia died Oct. 15, 1892 in Quincy, Lewis Co. Ky. Rachel A. Shover Hunt Anderson had previously been married to George W. Hunt on April 5, 1887. He died Oct. 71, 1889 in Shultz, KY In statement of April 1, 1915 James says he has the following children: Mary C. Anderson born June 12, 1865 now dead in 1915 Alice Naomi Anderson born August 9, 1868, now dead in 1915 Emma (Emey) B. Anderson born Oct. 2, 1870, now dead in 1915 Ellen Anderson born May 18, 1873, now dead in 1915 Robert Garland Anderson born April 22, 1876, alive in 1915 Clara (Clarie) Alice Anderson born July 6, 1880 alive in 1915 William McKinley Anderson born May 4, 1895 dead in 1915 The death certificate (in the pension file) of James Anderson states that he was of Quincy, in Lewis Co. KY. Born March 11, 1842, and died March 9, 1920, age 77. It also states that his father was Wesley Anderson who was born in KY and Nancy Jones who was born in KY. Portsmouth Times, Saturday, Oct. 21, 1939 Mrs. Anna Anderson Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Anderson, 75, of Quincy, Ky., who died Friday morning at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mrs. and Mrs. Arnold Molen, 5961 Woodland avenue, Sciotoville will be held at Quincy Methodist church at 2 p.m. Monday. Rev. C. W. Sultzbach, pastor of Sciotoville Methodist church, will officiate and burial will follow in Quincy cemetery. Short services are to be held at 8 p.m. at the Molen residence. Mrs. Anderson was born Oct 3, 1864, in Greenup county, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Shover. She was married to George Hunt April 5, 1887. Mr. Hunt passed away several years later. May 4, 1894, she was married to James Anderson, a son of William McKinley Anderson, who also preceded Mrs. Anderson in death. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Leona Hunt Underwood, 638 Fifth street, and Mrs. Georgia Hunt Molen, 5961 Woodland avenue, Sciotoville; three grandchildren, Jesse and Florence Underwood of Portsmouth, Ralph Underwood of Quincy; two great grandchildren, Jean and David Underwood of Quincy; a sister Mrs. Emma Fralley of Letitia, and two brothers, Benjamin Shover of Friendship and Joseph Shover of Kankakee, Ill. She was a member of Quincy Methodist church.
