JUST POSTING THE OBITUARY ON VIRGINIA MURPHY FROM THE THOMPSON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOMES OF SOUTHWEST OHIO 2008. Virginia Fairchild Murphy, 87, of Montgomery, AL, passed away February 24 in Montgomery. Mrs. Murphy was born in Flatwoods, KY and had lived in Bristol since 1981 before moving to Montgomery. She was a graduate of Liberty County High School and was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include two sons, Ronald L. Murphy and his wife Mary Jo of Springfield, OH and James E. Murphy of Montgomery, AL; two sisters, Irene Ritter of Bristol and Margaret Perry of Russell, KY; two grandchildren, Greg Murphy of Naples, FL and Lysa Smith and her husband Brian of Springfield, OH; four great-grandchildren Paige Smith and Ashley, Allie and R.T. Murphy. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. CT February 29, 2008 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Blountstown. The family will receive friends an hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will follow in the Mitchem Cemetery in Bristol.
