Hi to the list, I am researching the MILAR family (my grandmother pronounced that "MYLAR"); My gggrandfather, Silas MILAR was born in 1842 (another source says 1841); died July 1, 1904 in Van Wert, Ohio. He was a Civil War Army Private, Company F, 91 Reg., OVI. He married Mahalah MAULT/MOTT of Scioto County, Ohio. My understanding is that the MILARS were from GreenupCounty, Kentucky, and crossed the river to work in the mines/furnances in Scioto. The children from this marriage were: 1. Moses (06 Jul 1867 - 13 Oct 1950); wife Jane; daughter Lucille/maybe 1 other child 2. Melissa (28 Sep 1869 - 2 Jun 1960); husband Thomas David GRIMSHAW (my line) 3. Nora Alice (married James LOWERY); son Armand; may have lived in Florida 4. George W. (may be Washington); I believe had three children; 2 girls and a boy 5. Myrtle (married John NOGGLE); no children; very close to sister Nora 6. Mary Jane, died at 18 years old; buried in Van Wert, Ohio (1883-1901) 7. Sarah (1st husband, Ike NOLL; had 2 sons; I believe after his death, she married again and moved back to Kentucky). My branch of the family (Melissa) homesteaded in Macon County, MO. Anyone who may have information on the MILARS, please contact me. I am especially interested in Silas' parents, siblings and background. Thanks so much, Sharon Prince Parker, Colorado
