    3. Hi Mary, Jean and all, This is going to be my last note on this subject before someone gets mad and tells me notes of this type should be sent privately, rather than to the list. And they're probably right. As you both said, our roots normally take a lot of different turns, and usually reveal some ethnic backgrounds and disreputable or unsavory ancestors that some people, even today, would like to deny. Facts are facts, everyone's ancestors were not officers during the Civil War or during the Revolutionary War, most were privates, and all were not heroes, many were cowards or deserters. Great grandma didn't really have a child at 54 and then another at 58, did you notice she had daughters in their 20s? Back to the subject of genealogy, my eastern KY families are BLAIR, DAY, FANNIN, ELLINGTON, MCBRAYER & GILLUM. My gr gr grandfather, David BLAIR, died in Greenup Co. sometime between 1870 & 1880, anybody know more about this? Jean, I'm going to send a separate note with what I have on Sarah Fannin's ancestors. . -- Dave Dollard e-mail: dollard@cdmnet.com or dollard@primary.net Dollard Family Genealogy Page: http://www3.primary.net/~dollard/
