It may be boring and time-consuming for many subscribers to read these personal letters, but it was through a personal memorial to her great grandmother that I was able to find the one link in my lines that had had me up against the proverbial wall for years. I answered the woman that her GGM sounded so much like the mystery woman in our own collection of family photos ... even to her unusual style of dress and jewelry. And after a few electronic conversations, I went on, to scan that photograph and send it to her. And, her family recognized the photo immediately ... It was great grandmother's favorite cousin, and that same photo had sat on her mantel as long as they could remember! Same name, same age and same general locality as the woman I was searching for all these years. One little comment on a civil record had directed me to the wrong county, and I'd wasted years, looking in the wrong place. Suddenly, I had a whole county full of relatives!
