    1. Shameful
    2. Hi Jean, Dave, and all, I too am having a problem finding information on my family, and when I started my research, my mother who is 80 couldn't understand why I wanted to dig up the past. After I read Jean's and Dave's letter to her today she said that her mother always said we were Black Irish. My ggrandfathers name was Merdith WILLIAMS married to Jane MCSWEENEY. I have also been told there was Indian blood in our ancestry but I can't find where. Then I've been told my gggrandfather was 3rd cousin to Queen Victoria. So I may be Melungeon, or Royalty, who cares? How many people in the world today and especially in the south, where there were slaves can truly say they don't have some mixed blood? I think not many. I would love to know what mixture I am. I am not prejudiced and believe God loves us all. I am collecting all the information I can for my children, because their dad, his mother and 6 siblings all died of cancer and if they and their children know this it may help to save a life. Sorry to be so lengthy but I felt a need to get my two cents in. Mary health@nidlink.com
