Hi List, I am researching the Gilbert Penix family from Kentucky. I am trying to find out how my Grandmother fits into this family. I am very interested in Gilbert's son John Penix's family. The family talk is that after my grandmother's parents died, she at a young age was raised by "Uncle John Penix's family" My Grandmother's name was Mary D Blevins. Her father was listed in a 1900 Census of Greenup County, Ky as a widowed son in law living in the home of Gilbert Penix. Her death certificate has her mother listed as Elizabeth Meadows. I am not positive but, am leaning to the assumption that this is an error and her name was really Elizabeth Penix born in 1874. Two of John Penix's children married "Coopers" Milford Penix married a Rebecca Jane Cooper, I have no info on either one of them. His sister Myrtle Penix born May 3, 1894 died Feb. 15, 1977 buried in Siloam Cemetery, Ky. Married Tom Cooper born June 13, 1887. They were married on May 31, 1917. My grandmother (Mary Blevins) married Tom Cooper's older brother William at the home of Gilbert Penix. On September 27, 1910. William, Mary, Tom and Myrtle all bought land in "Limeville Hollow" and lived there thier whole lives. Any info on any of these people will be greatly appreciated. Especially: The death date of Elizabeth Penix, was she ever married? Milford Penix and Rebecca Cooper, Marriage, deaths, children, .......Rebeccas parents? Myrtle Penix and Tom Cooper's children. I know one was named ........Paul, and he passed recently. Thank you, Ed
