    1. [KYGREENU-L] Help finding lineage back to William Floyd
    2. Jim Wiley
    3. My name is Jim Wiley. I am married to Sandy (Kilgore) Wiley, daughter of Roger and Mary Kilgore, and granddaughter of Roscoe Stephens (former Greenup Co. Schools Superintendent). Nellie Stephens, Roscoe's wife handed down a geneology of the family tracing back to William Floyd, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Unfortunately, the two of her children she gave it to cannot find it. The reason I need this information is that my daughter can get a scholarship of up to $2,000 simply for being a descendant of a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Here is the information I have so far.... Roscoe's mother was Ottie May (Floyd) Stephens, married to Ed Stephens of Lost Creek. She died in about 1928, when Roscoe was 11 years old. Her father was William O. Floyd. William O. Floyd was the son of David Floyd, a slave owner, probably in Virginia. Then there is a gap in the lineage until we get to Nicoll Floyd II, only son of William Floyd. I guess at this point I need to verify that this information is first of all, correct, and then have some kind of proof (i.e. death records, marriage records, etc.) and have no clue where to go from here. Could you offer some help/advice? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Jim Wiley
