    3. Dear Researchers who Include Greenup County, Kentucky in their Studies, Can anyone help me identify "Reube Hollow", whose watercourse flowed into Schultz Creek in Greenup County, Kentucky? The handwriting in the deed was not totally clear, so it is possible that the word "Reube" was misread. I have the text of a Greenup County deed, dated November 14, 1879. The 114-acre tract of land was conveyed to Hammon(d) W. Aldridge and his wife Sarah Harr by the widow Tomazine Harr and others (heirs of Furman Harr, deceased), for one hundred dollars. In the description of the boundaries of the tract, is the detail: "Beginning at a stone on Schultz Creek at the mouth of the Reube hollow". The boundary description goes on to mention that W.R. Thompson and Thaddeus Bennett were adjoining neighbors, as well as Thomazine Harr and Thomas Harr. "The horse hollow (lower-case letters)" was named, as part of the boundary. Was this Horse Hollow (capitalized), which flows in a southeasterly direction into Whiteoak Creek at the community of York, near the site of Kenton Furnace? If so, the 114-acre tract would have had to extend ~at least~ a mile in length, likely more, in order to be on the waters of Schultz Creek AND Horse Hollow. Is that possible? Is it possible for a 114-acre tract of land to be a mile or more in length? Thank you for your help in any of the problems named above. Don't you just love cartography? Best wishes for success to all! Sincerely, Randal W. Cooper
