Folks...I received this email and wanted to let you all know what is coming! "We've had a great new project in the works for many months now--the Kentucky Vital Records Project. Eventually it will contain digital images and transcriptions of every birth, marriage and death registered in Kentucky. We are combining researcher contributions with a coordinated extraction program to help get the records up as quickly as possible. There will be a browsable index along with a search engine. The initial index contains an index of Kentucky deaths. Just putting up this browsable index will help thousands of researchers find death certificates that couldn't be found because of the errors in indexing. Barring disaster, the project will launch in February with thousands of transcribed and digitally photographed death certificates. Right now, the index is somewhere over 136,000 html pages. " Isn't this wonderful?! I will keep you posted as I hear more about it and where to find it. Sharon Young Jebavy <>< [email protected]
