Howland Mar 15 1763 - Benjamin Howland Marries Anna Crocker in West Barnstable Congregational Church Ref : Church Records Oct 22 1765 - Elisha Crocker b. 1750 " only son of David Crocker , Jr late of Barnstable " is places under guardianship of John Percival. Ref : Barnstable Co. Probate Records Oct 25 1765 - David Crocker , jr estate settlement names " daughter Anna Howland , wife of Benjamin Howland." Also names "only son" Elisha Crocker. This is the last known record of Benjamin and Anna Crocker, ref: Barnstable Co. Probate Records, April 1 1771 - Elisha Crocker and his guardian , John Percival , "Settle there Accounts." Elisha , age 21, removes to Berkshire County as did many Barnstable people before and after Elisha. Ref: Barnstable co. Records July 17 1771- Elisha Crocker buys land in Berkshire County first in Richmont then later in Lee. Ref: Berkshire Co. Register of Deeds 1 December 1801 - Crocker Howland " of Stockbridge" dies in Berkshire Co. , Mass . Stockbridge is immediately adjacent to Lee. His Probate records names wife Ama ( Also called Amy) ., his children Benjamin Howland and Anna. Also mentioned prominently is Elisha Crocker !!!!!!!! Ref: Berkshire Co. , Mass Probate Records. 14 Aug 1802 - Crocker Howlands Estate pays Elisha Crocker $20.00 ref: Berkshire Co. Probate Records 16 Aug 1802 - Elisha Crocker and his son, David are involved in $70.00 note with Crocker Howland's Estate and the adminstratrix Ama Howland. Ref: Berkshire Co. Probate Records. Note: It is important to remember that this same Elisha Crocker was the brother of Anna Crocker Howland, wife of Benjamin. Therefore it is probable that Elisha was Crocker Howland's uncle -- rather than just another Barnstable native who happens to show up on Crocker Howland's estate papers. Also keep in mind the children's names Benjamin and Anna same as Crockers Howland Parents as well ......... 2 Nov 1802 - Benjamin and Anna Howland placed under guardianship of Elisha Harris who is believed to be Ama (Harris) Howland's father . ref: Berkshire Co, Probate Records. 1 April 1805 - Widow Ama Howland Purchases two acres of land adjacent to the lands of Elisha Crocker. Ref: Berkshire Co. Deeds 12 Mar 1807 - Widow Ama Howland marries James L. Hyde in the First Congregational Church of Lee, Mass. (Elisha Crocker and his family were members of this congregation.) Ref: Church Records and Lee Vital Records . 1820 - James L. Hyde , Ama Benjamin, Anna and Alice Howland remove to Greenup County Kentucky. ( Ama Howland was Pregnant with Alice at the time of Crocker Howland's Death. She made a claim for nursing care " during my sickness in child bed" against the estate but it was denied.) Ref: United States Census 1820. Also oral family history that says " A Mr. Hyde brought Benjamin Howland down the river on a flatboat from New England." 13 Jan 1834 - Elisha Crocker born 1750 , in Barnstable dies in Lee Mass. Ref: Lee Vital Records. 1 April 1834 - The last will and testament of Elijah Harris leaves " the remainder to be paid to Benjamin Howland and his sister, Anna, who it is believed are at the South."
