Dear Subscribers to the Greenup County, Kentucky Mailing List, In Horse Hollow is a cemetery named Allen Cemetery. Can anyone tell me which Allens are buried there? There are quite a few Allens in the 1850 Census of Greenup County, Kentucky. I am trying to identify the Allens who lived in Horse Hollow. Allen Cemetery is about 1 1/2 miles up Horse Hollow. Continuing past Allen Cemetery, it is about 1.3 miles further to the Lewis County line. The road that follows Horse Hollow past Allen Cemetery, over the ridgetop into Lewis County, then follows Briery Branch down to Quincy on the Ohio River, is Route 2070 in Greenup County and Route 1021 in Lewis County. In addition, if anyone can name any of the residents of Horse Hollow in the 1850s and 1860s, I would be interested to hear from you. I am attempting to locate Furman Harr's and Enoch Loper's land.
