    3. I think as far as the $1. is concerned that this was not the true sale price. My Dad's family came from Kentucky - and several times during my childhood and early adulthood when someone in the family bought or sold real estate the amount that was recorded at the court house was $1. The reasoning was that it was no one's business what the actual price was - and that was enough to get it recorded. I think now that the actual price has to be given - usually because there is a loan involved. At that time everything was paid in cash and there was no loan. - - - - - - - Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW--What a Ride!"
