Mary Smyth? My ancestor Mary Smyth is thought to be the Mary Smythe who married a Reuben Canterbury in Lawrence Co., Ky on 1 Jan 1833. "My" Mary was the widow of Amous Smyth, Esq. I'm searching for any documentation that she was one and the same as the Mary Smythe who m. Reuben. Also, any death, burial information, or Missouri connection to these Greenup Co., KY/Lawrence Co., KY ancestors. Amous Smythe & "my beloved Mary" had children: " my son" Samuel M Smyth who m. Mary Jane "Polly" Justice; "my daughter Polly [Smyth] Fannin who m. Bryant Fannin, and possibly Ashville Harvey Smyth who m. Matilda Stacy. I say "possibly" for in Amos' will written 1824, Lawrence Co., KY, probated 1826 Russell Co., VA he does Not give the relationship between him and Ashville H Smyth, although Ashville H Smyth is named in the will.
