JUST POSTING THE OBITUARY ON LESLIE ROMANS FROM THE COLUMBUS (OH) DISPATCH 10/16/07 Leslie J. "L.J." Romans, age 71, of Marengo, OH died October 14, 2007 at home. He was born on April 3, 1936 in Greenup County, KY to the late Clyde and Maude Bell (Stewart) Romans. A Marengo resident for the past 32 years, he was retired from Fishel Construction. He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years Catherene A. (Ash) Romans in 2001, brothers Ercel and Ray, sisters Wilma Jean Richter and Clara Emerson. L.J. was a devoted member of the North Woodbury Freewill Baptist Church. Church and his family were his number one concern. A devoted Christian, he studied the Bible daily, reading it cover to cover numerous times. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working in his garden. He treasured his family. Quiet and shy; he will be remembered for his generous ways and warm heart. Survived by daughters, Frances (Mark) Gramlich of Columbus, OH, Dovie Romans, Nancy (Rod) Young of Marengo, OH; sons, Kenny and Jack Romans of Marengo, Ted (Teresa) Springston of Cardington, OH, Georg! e (Carol) Springston of Mansfield, OH, Herbert (Sue) Springston of Marengo; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers: Lovell Romans of Columbus, Alvin Romans; and sister Evelyn Reuter; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends may call October 17, 2007 5-8 p.m. at DeVORE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, SR's 3 at 61, Sunbury, OH. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. October 18, 2007 at North Woodbury Freewill Baptist Church, 8186 SR 314, Mt. Gilead with Pastor Jimmy Thompson officiating, interment Marengo Cemetery.
