Mary Smyth? My ancestor Mary Smyth is thought to be the Mary Smythe who married a Reuben Canterbury in Lawrence Co., Ky on 1 Jan 1833. "My" Mary was the widow of Amous Smyth, Esq. I'm searching for any documentation that she was one and the same as the Mary Smythe who m. Reuben. Also, any death, burial information, or Missouri connection to these Greenup Co., KY/Lawrence Co., KY ancestors. Amous Smythe & "my beloved Mary" had children: " my son" Samuel M Smyth who m. Mary Jane "Polly" Justice; "my daughter Polly [Smyth] Fannin who m. Bryant Fannin, and possibly Ashville Harvey Smyth who m. Matilda Stacy. I say "possibly" for in Amos' will written 1824, Lawrence Co., KY, probated 1826 Russell Co., VA he does Not give the relationship between him and Ashville H Smyth, although Ashville H Smyth is named in the will. Miller family on the 1930 census in Fullerton. That is the only thing I have found regarding James A. Miller that I know to be certain. He was born about 1900. Leona was born 2 Nov 1902, Willard, Carter Co., KY and died 7 Dec 1991, South Shore, Greenup Co. If anyone has additional information about James, I would appreciate your sharing it. Thanks! Wilson died in 1837 and Nancy left Hawkins Co about 1844 and is not found until 1860 with her sons Clinton and Wesley. Clinton married Martha ROE, son of Joshua ROE and Nancy HUNTSMAN. Clinton died Jul 10, 1925 in Greenup Co KY. He was living with his son, William who was 65 yrs of age. We are looking for the cemetery where these VAUGHN's are buried. I am not sure if they are buried in Greenup, but Clinton died there. He may have been buried in Carter Co KY. If anyone has any information about this family, I would very much like to hear from you. I also know the 1930 census has Uncle Dink and Aunt Eva listed as Fannin's instead of Patton's. I don't know how that happened or how to change it. It does list all of them though. Then Floyd's brother supposedly killed the Potter man and the brother left the area and never returned. These killings left Floyd Gilbert's 11 children without a father and the Potter man had children also I believe.
