    1. [KYGREENU-L] [Scioto-Valley-OH-L] Hi!
    2. Karen and Bob
    3. I am researching the ABRAMS family. They migrated from Greenup Co., KY to Lawrence Co., OH in the 1850's. Joseph ABRAMS and his wife, Mary (Rhoda) are listed on the 1860 census in Lawrence Co. Joseph is my husband's ggggrandfather. Am also interested in the CANTER family of Jackson Co. Amos CANTER was born abt 1845. The BRAGDON family also lived in Jackson Co. Am looking for information on James BRAGDON and Reuben BRAGDON. James was living in Jackson Co., in 1860, Lawrence Co. in 1870, and back in Jackson Co. in 1880. Any help with these families would be greatly appreciated. Karen ==== Scioto-Valley-OH Mailing List ==== This is the Lower Scioto Valley email list! 1. [KYGREENU-L] Reminder: Good Entry Tips!
    2. Betty Lou Riley
    3. Hi Everyone, I just wanted to take a moment, to remind everyone of the tips for good discussion list entries. Please remember to use a well defined, meaningful, subject line, *name, state and date*, helps greatly! If you have a subject, that is a little off subject, please make a note, in the subject line. Just remember that some of our members get hundreds of messages a day, the ones with vague subject lines, are prime candidates for deletion without reading. If you're replying to a message, but changing the subject of conversation, change the subject line to match. If you subscribe in Digest mode, don't just leave "Digest" as the subject but make sure that your subject line matches the content of your message. Taking a few extra seconds to make sure your subject line is an effective one, makes it more likely you'll find the connection you're after. Pioneer stories and family stories, are fine, they go hand in hand with the facts of genealogy. You never know when they might connect to someone family!! Don't forget to watch the *TO* line, so you know where your reply is going, If it says *KYGreenu-L*, its going to be public to the list. If it says someones *name*, its going private to them. If you want it *private* click thier e-mail address. Use *reply to all*, to get it to both places. Please remember, to just leave enough of the previous message to identify it, not the entire message. The full message just adds to the overload at roots and also to everyones mailboxes. Digest replies can be a real overload. Hope this will help all of us, in our busy days!! Betty Lou Riley List Owner for: OHAdams-L, KYGreenu-L, KYLewis-L, Crockett-L, McGovney-L, and RileyRelics-L. 2. Mark Hovila
    3. Carleene, I would like to take you up on your kind offer to search the book on Greenup marriages from 1854 to 1903. My ancestors were Benjamin R. Townsend, b Aug 1, 1835, in KY, and Lucinda Estella Barney, b Dec 9, 1835, in Greenup Co., KY. Their first child, Jackson J. Townsend, was born in Greenup Co. on April 26, 1854, so they were probably married before 1854, but you never know. I have some information on Lucinda's ancestry, but nothing on Benjamin's family. Do the marriage records give the names of parents? Maybe some of Benjamin's siblings were married in that period which would lead me to the parents. Thank you, Mark Hovila hovila@foxinternet.net

    1. Re: [KYGREENU-L] CLARK - SNYDER - HAVENS - ZORNES
    2. Yes we recognize these names. We are descended from Andrew Zornes and Rebecca Llewellyn, Andrew being the uncle of your Andrew. Following is information about a book we are writing. Will be anxious to hear more from you. Later Pat Kratz ZORNS BOOK After many years of doing research on the family name of Zorns/Zornes, three of us have decided to work together and publish a book about "Andrew Zorns Sr. and Martin Zorns Sr. and their Descendants" We are pooling the data collected by Jane Zorns-Burrows, Pat Kratz, and Shirley Ramos. Our intention is to describe and list these families of Pennsylvania and Kentucky as well as other areas. We will include sections on other lines as related to Zorns, ie; Campbell, McCleese and any others that have enough information to warrant whole sections. But, we are soliciting your help. We would like this book to be as complete and as good a research tool as possible as well. Therefore we are asking you to send to us any information that you have on your family ancestry tracing back from yourself. Please also include your grandchildren. Would you please send this information to: Shirley Ramos 3401 Savage Pinole, CA 94564 She will be compiling the data. You can also e-mail her the information at slramos@pacbell.net In order for us to know about your interest in the book we are enclosing a letter for you to return in order to inform us of your interest in the book. The book will probably be hard bound and fully indexed. We will do everything we can do to keep the cost down and are not expecting to make a profit. The book business will be taken care of by: Pat Kratz 2801 E.P. True Pkwy. #101 West Des Moines, IA 50265 You can e-mail her at PKKratz@aol.com If your data is easier to send via gedcom file you can do that either by postal mail or by e-mail. We are excited about this project and hope to publish sometime in 1999. It is a big task and one that takes time. But please do not delay and please send to us information that you would want included in this book. It would be helpful if you know of others who might have information to contribute, if you were to send to us the names and addresses of such persons. Sincerely, Pat Kratz Shirley Ramos Jane Zorns-Burrows
